Erasmus+ is a vital tool for fostering knowledge, skills and attitudes that address climate change and support sustainable development within the European Union and beyond.

In alignment with its core principles of environmental sustainability and combating climate change, the Erasmus+ programme encourages green mobility and travel. Participants are encouraged to choose options of transport that have a lower carbon footprint or overall environmental impact such as buses, trains or car sharing, whenever possible.

Additional grant for "green mobility/travel"

Students and staff opting for eco-friendly transportation can receive additional grants under the green mobility/travel initiative. To qualify, at least half of the total distance traveled must be covered using low-carbon-transport options.

Furthermore, the institution encourages students and staff participating in the Erasmus+ programme to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle during their mobility. Emphasis is placed on the following actions:

●    Using public transport, cycling or walking
●    Recycling
●    Consciously managing water and electricity usage
●    Adopting sustainable eating habits and behavior (i.e. cooking, reducing consumption of meat, minimizing food waste, buying food from local shops etc).
