International mobility

The Erasmus+ KA171 International Mobility Programme is a new challenge in the field of education as it transcends European borders and spreads across the globe to enhance the exchange of learning, teaching, training and working experiences, following the priorities of the European Union's external policy.

Action KA171 supports the international mobility of students and staff between Programme Countries and Partner Countries not associated with the Programme. It has a global reach as the world is divided into regions, to which different budgets are allocated annually.

The implementation of the projects is linked to the internationalisation strategy of higher education institutions on both sides.

International Mobility was launched in the academic year 2015-2016 and funds the mobility of students, teaching and administrative staff between Programme countries (EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Iceland, Turkey) and partner countries (non-European countries), broadening the horizon of cooperation with HEIs located around the world.

Mobility involves the following actions:

  • Studies
  • Internship (from the academic year 2018-2019)

Outward student mobility has many limitations. Mobility for short, first cycle (Bachelor) and second cycle (Master) students taking place in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) in Regions 2-11 is limited to incoming mobility from third countries not associated with the programme.

Outgoing mobility to these countries is only possible for doctoral candidates and staff.

  • Teaching
  • Training

Each year a single proposal is submitted by the University of Peloponnese, after the submission of individual proposals of documented cooperation of professors of its Departments, for participation in the Programme, following a relevant announcement by the EU and the EMS/ICY. Erasmus International Mobility administrators are responsible for the final submission of the institutional proposal, and each approved project may have a duration of 24 or 36 months.

A signed Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement is a prerequisite for the implementation of the mobility.

The International Mobility administrators are responsible for informing the mobility participants about the forms and actions needed for the correct organisation of the mobility.

The University of Peloponnese participates in International Mobility with approved mobility plans since 2019 with university partnerships in the following countries: Azerbaijan, Albania, Egypt, Albania, Georgia, Canada, Jordan, Iran, Jordan, Iran, Kosovo, Montenegro, Montenegro, Nigeria, Nigeria, Uruguay, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, USA, which are constantly expanding.
